Antique Georgian sterling silver salver / waiter. London 1791-1792 (date letter "q"), maker's mark IW attributed t John Willis. Fully hallmarked: maker's mark, lion passar crowned leopard's head, date letter q and duty mark (George III). Circular form with shaped Chippendale-st border and fine floral & scroll engraving to the well. Centre engraved with a heraldic crest: a lion rampant holding a staff, with the motto "DISCITE JUSTITIAM MONITI". Diameter: 26 cm Height: approx. 3 cm Weigh 500 grams Good antique condition with expected ligh surface wear and some minor scratches commensurat with age. Hallmarks clear and legible. No repairs noted nice original late 18th-century English silver salver with armorial interest.
