A beautiful antique Edwardian scent/perfume bottle, made from ruby-red glass and enclosed within an ornate pierced and hand-engraved sterling silver case. Fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1908, with the maker’s mark G.F.W for G. F. Wall. The silver case features attractive floral and foliate engraving together with an elegant pierced geometric design, allowing the rich ruby-red glass to show through. The hinged silver cover opens to reveal the original glass bottle and removable internal glass stopper. Approximate height: 6 cm Total weight: 57.73 grams, including the glass bottle and stopper. The bottle is in good antique condition. The ruby-red glass bottle and the original internal glass stopper are both intact, with no chips or cracks observed. The hinged cover opens and closes correctly. There are some light surface marks, wear and minor imperfections consistent with its age and previous use. A charming and highly decorative Edwardian sterling silver scent bottle, ideal for a collection of antique silver, vanity items or perfume bottles.
